But generally speaking, court reporters make good money with the average median annual wage at $49,710 as of May 2008 per the U.S. Department of Labor.
The three highest employment states of the District of Columbia, Oklahoma and Kansas pay an annual mean wage of $49,363, while the next two states of Louisiana and Indiana pay an annual mean wage of $34,085. To maximize salaries it is important to take into consideration the location of the job.
