Posting Your Job Resume Online

When you come to the point where you have perfected a fantastic resume and you need to get it out in front of prospective employers, you need to take the necessary steps to post your resume online.  It is really very simple to post your resume online and there are many great sites where you can do just that.  Before you even start posting that great resume, consider exactly why you are doing it.

It takes a lot of time an effort to research and seek out exact companies, people, and recruiters to mail your resume to for their review.  Most times, company addresses are not hard to find, but then comes the more detailed search of finding the appropriate contact person to mail your resume to.  Sending resumes to general “Director of Human Resources” contacts will rarely get your resume in the right place.  So do not waste research time and money to achieve less than stellar results.

Court reporting is a cutting edge occupation and you should be comfortable utilizing the technology of today when is posting your resume online electronically.  You are making yourself much more visible and accessible than any mass mailing can do for you.  When you begin your resume posting, you will need a good strategy.

It will be a good idea to start with the major resume posting sites such as:  CareerBuilder, Monster, Resume Boomer, and Employment911.  Posting your resume here will get your resume visibility to hundreds of thousands of possible employers and recruiters.  Large resume posting sites are a good place to “throw your hat into the ring.”  Once you have done that, you will want to begin narrowing your search for sites catering more to legal and court reporting jobs.

Try out the site www.LawLegalJobs.com which will get you more directly into the field you are trying to find employment in.  Of course, there will not be as many jobs posted, and as many companies and recruiters looking at your resume, but you might just make contact with a good fit for your employment needs.

This admonishment to go online to post your resume should not be taken as advocating no needs to do regular mailing of your resume to prospective employers.  Even today, not all employers post their jobs online, or utilize resume posting sites.  See your ability to post your resume online as a priority, but not exclusive way to get in front of employers and recruiters.

To recap, get your resume ready to go.  Make sure you have great keywords that stand out when your resume is scanned by a machine.  Then, go to some of the big resume posting sites and enter your resume there.  You, then, want to take advantage of any specific legal site that accepts resumes looking specifically for court reporters.  Professional organizations may have resume posting sites as well.  Finally, continue with mailing to specific employers especially when you have the name of a valid contact person with personnel.
