Court reporters career opportunities are growing and expanding.  Estimates of growth in the court reporting industry range from 18% to 25% through the year 2018.  There are three main reasons for the growth.  One, there is a national shortage of court reporters.  Two, technological advances are changing the methods of how court reporting is done.  Third, court reporting potential is spreading into different areas of society other than only the court systems.

Court reports can become skilled in both written and verbal reporting.  You can specialize your training to master writing recording devices or digital recording.  Gaining skill in both areas will only make your skills more marketable in the future.
